I had this happen to me once. I was fishing from a kayak and an ass hole eagle took a fish out of the water 50 feet away!

“ Some days you get to watch a bald eagle pull a fish out of a lake with your kids. Those are food days.”
I can only imagine what the other days are like...
“Sorry, kids. Mr Eagle didn’t want to come out and play today so you’ll just have to go to bed without food.”

That is awesome to see. We have a few bald eagles in Houston, and when it doesn’t rain for a while they range into my n ei ghborhood (I live near a bayou) to fish. I see them occasionally while I’m out on a run. Haven’t seen one catch a fish, but I did see a few other birds try to mess with it while it was perched atop a pole. The eagle sat there for a few passes, then took off and nearly sliced one in half with a talon and went back to his perch. The other birds left quickly.

I saw a hawk take out a robin a few weeks back during a walk with my daughter. We weren’t more than 20-30' from it either.
